Tichafara Murimwa, a prophet from Mvuma popularly known as Madzibaba Evans was humiliated in his hometown last week when he was allegedly caught shoplifting at Spar Supermarket.
The unpaid goods found on him included groceries and alcohol. Murimwa allegedly paid $33 for goods worth $112 he had collected from the supermarket.
Mvuma Spar Supermarket manager Catherine Ruvinga confirmed the incident and said they recovered the groceries. She said that Murimwa allegedly connived with a till operator to steal the goods.
“I was suspicious of Murimwa when I saw him doing the shopping because recently, he had been a frequent shopper of almost the same groceries, doing his transactions with the same till operator,” she said.
Contacted for comment, Murimwa could only say to the reporter that he knew who informed her
